What is an electrical panel?
It is the common name given to an electrical distribution board. A distribution board is a peripheral component of an energy source such as a solar panel or wind turbine and it divides an electrical current feed into many subsidiary circuits within a cavity designed to protect the integrity of each circuit. The third and final function is to act as a secondary protection around the electrician connection to the panel. This function is performed during the installation of the electric power distribution system. The role of the secondary breaker box is to supply a redundant supply of electricity in the event that the primary breaker box fails. For this reason it is often placed in an underground storage facility where it can remain undisturbed for the long term.
When it comes to upgrading the panel you will need to work with the manufacturer’s specifications to ensure that you meet all of the required safety requirements. This means that you need to carefully measure the exposed wire locations to ensure that your new panel will not short any of the wires.
